This is an amazing offer indeed and the cashback does gets credited to Milkbasket a/c within 48 hrs from my testing. Here’s a quick look into the payments history:
However, here are few pre-cautions that you might need to take to make sure you get the cashback credit without any hassle.
- You cannot use same address for Supp. cards as doing so won’t get you the 2K cashback credit. Use different address/name and also likely from a different mobile handset.
- Seems they allow only one promo code on account and referral codes if used while creating the ac might mess up with this offer. Once the AMEX promo code is accepted, you would see this on home page or this on wallet load page.
- Milkbasket delivers only to select gated communities. So before you go ahead and avail the offer, make sure your location is showing up on their address list.
Final Thoughts
Overall it’s a sweet offer that helps you save a nice ~45% on Milkbasket spends. However the offer is tricky, complicated and has certain T&C and maybe that’s why American Express is not actively promoting it.

“This Offer is not applicable for Addresses which are already registered with Milkbasket” – this is not mentioned in T&C.
I tried to avail – it didn’t stop me from putting promo code but they are not giving cashback saying it’s not valid as per policy.
I have raised complaint with amex and waiting for reply. I feel it should have been clearly mentioned in the T&C.
Anything I can do in this case?

If so I think you can demand for the cashback. Mayeb take the case with Amex instead of Milkbasket.

Actually, I think its amex fault because in my conversation with executive, he told its there in the T&C they have internally but if you see the T&C link sent by amex over email to customers, its still not there …( americanexpress.com/content/dam/amex/in/services/Milkbasket-Sep21-TnC.pdf )
They could have amended it later without updating this pdf, as that line is there on the website T&C.

Yes, I got a call from them. They told they amended on 21st Sep but I availed on 19th Sep. They were trying to negotiate with me giving 1000 to 2000 reward points as compensation but I refused and asked for full Rs. 2000/-. They said they will get back – let’s see….

For the same address, I used my father’s phone number to sign up and used my MRCC to avail the offer. I got the 2000 additional credit in Milkbasket wallet on top of the 2500 Rs that I had added.

In my experience, I’ve never had a good experience with cashback offers on milkbasket. They have extremely tricky TnCs, so most would better off avoiding this “offer”.

Wish Amex has something like this on BB Daily, as MilkBasket doesn’t deliver in my location, and hopefully, if at all they run the offer, the T&C will be sensible enough. Amex has been running a month-end offer on BigBasket for the last couple of months, 10 percent off up to 500. Have been able to make use of it last 2 times…
I am regular user of supr app. Tried checking out this milkbasket app because of the offer. Its just a piece of shit! Super buggy to do anything : add a address or add money, any basic workflow is pathetic. I’t think twice before i add money into such a app.
If we are using MilkBasket and change our address to any other, create a new account with the correct address and top up of 2500, will it work in that case?
