American Express has come up with a new targeted spend linked offer for Sep 2022 with vouchers upto 1,500 INR on spends. This is an un-expected promo targeted to select credit card holders, maybe to encourage them to spend more. Here are all the details you need to know,

It’s interesting to note that both this offer and the recently received Kotak cashback offer doesn’t consider supp. cards spends.
Anyway, if you’ve received the offer, Congrats, that’s a nice 6% savings!
If you’ve not received the offer, it’s likely because you have other American Express Credit Cards which may get a better offer in the coming week.
I’ve not received the offer but I see that someone I know have received one. It’s a rarely used card so I think that answers the reason why some have got this offer.
It also means most would not have received the offer!
Bottomline
It’s interesting to see that American Express India has rolled out a small but a rewarding offer to select cardholders just before pushing their grand (hope so) Diwali offer of the year.
The offer period also makes it clear that this is not the Diwali offer targeted to these cardholders. So don’t loose hope yet. 😉
And if you’re wondering when Amex is going to take new applications, well, “next week” is what I hear, every week. Let’s see!

I am unable to get hold of any American Express Card although my district has been recently added to Serviceable areas of American Express because I am a Farmer and we don’t have ITRs, we only have J Forms which American Express doesn’t accept as income proofs. Is there any other way to get American Express Credit Card if one doesn’t have ITR or Salary Slip.
You need to file ITR on your own to reflect your income and taxes paid. J Form is just a revenue receipt for the sale of agricultural produce.

Also, a comparison between Amex MRCC and Amex Gold Charge please, as I am looking to apply to one of those. I have a CIBIL of 775 and will apply for first Amex Card, and I am confused to choose one over the other.

As of now they’ve sufficient customers interested in taking new cards without offers. Offers may kick-in after a month is my assumption.

Yes maybe initially they will not offer any joining bonus, but I hope so they do. That way I can also enjoy the Diwali offer that they will probably provide next month!!
New customers geenrally doesn’t get Diwali or any other spend linked offers for the first 2-3 months, as Amex need sometime to learn the spend pattern.

Haven’t received any offer on my MRCC. I remember Amex had continuous spend based offers for 2 months last year, received one of them. Hopefully, if not this time, there will be one around soon, and one would receive it too.

I’ve got a spend based offer on my AMEX platinum charge card last week. Spend 7 lakhs and get 30k Taj vouchers!! Not so rewarding compared to last year’s offer of spend 4.5 lakhs for 40k Taj vouchers.
